Our New Name

Bristol Precision

Our new name draws inspiration from the nautical term “shipshape and Bristol fashion,” a phrase that originated in 19th-century Bristol, England. At the time, Bristol was second only to London as England’s leading transatlantic shipping port.

Bristol Harbor experienced dramatic 40-foot tidal surges, leaving ships resting on rocks and mud twice a day. To withstand these extreme conditions, vessels had to be exceptionally well-built, with their cargo securely stowed. As a result, Bristol’s ships set the standard for seaworthiness and preparedness—qualities essential for navigating the unpredictable Atlantic Ocean.

To this day, “shipshape and Bristol fashion” remains a designation of quality, care, and precision—principles that align with our commitment to excellence in the aerospace, medical, scientific, commercial, and defense industries.

I purchased J&J Machine (now Bristol Precision) in 2014 with the goal of building New England’s premier prototype CNC shop. Over the years, I’ve focused on assembling a top-tier team, investing in cutting-edge equipment, achieving ISO certifications, implementing advanced shop-floor software and rebranding the company to reflect our expanded capabilities and commitment to excellence.

I earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College and an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. Before acquiring J&J Machine, I held management roles at Biogen, Bio-Rad, EY and Turner Construction, where I gained valuable experience in operations, finance, and leadership.

I’m an active member of the Vistage CEO peer network and serve on the board of the Boston chapter of the National Tooling & Machining Association.

My favorite part of leading Bristol Precision is helping customers solve complex manufacturing challenges and bring new innovations to market. If you need a partner to help achieve your manufacturing goals, feel free to reach out—I’d love to discuss how we can support your success.
